Mineral Processing Leader (Copper)

The position

CSIRO Minerals is seeking to appoint a Mineral Processing Leader – Copper.

In this role, you will work closely with our scientist in the Santiago, Chile office where we have a strong relationship with the Chilean copper industry. You will pull together geo-metallurgical, hydro-metallurgical, pyro-metallurgical and other capabilities across CSIRO to address industry needs.

In this senior leader role you will identify research opportunities, engage with industry to fund initiatives, coordinate the delivery of work programs, and maintain a strong knowledge of industry trends, challenges and research opportunities.  

Your duties will include:

  • Build CSIRO business and capability in the domain of copper and related metals to the benefit of Australian industry.
  • Maintain a strong sector knowledge base to identify customers and research opportunities.
  • Create, plan and deliver major industry focused projects for the processing of Australian ore types and contribute to other significant projects across the Business Unit.

Location:           Waterford WA, Clayton VIC or Santiago Chile
Salary:               AU$131K - AU$145K plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:              Specified Term of 3 years
