Test Team Lead

As the Test Team Lead with CSIRO Information Management and Technology (IMT), you will coach, inspire and lead our team of test analysts; building capability and driving the team to achieve its strategic goals. Contributing to a portfolio of product development, you will work on a range of product testing activities in an environment that accommodates and welcomes change. Operating in this agile and highly collaborative environment, you will value individuals and interactions over process and tools; and working software over comprehensive documentation. Leading a high-performing team, you will contribute to the delivery of solutions and services in support of CSIRO’s strategic and operational objectives.

In this role you will:

• Lead an effective team, allocate and manage resources and undertake staff performance management and career development.
• Contribute to the team’s strategic direction and drive plans to achieve strategic goals.
• Lead the development of enhanced functional, regression, performance and automation test standards.
• Develop, plan, coordinate, document and implement product quality assurance.
• Work with business areas and technical teams to design, document and execute risk-based test plans.
• Lead the implementation of automated functional, regression and performance testing.
• Provide technical advice and contribute to the team’s continuous delivery implementation.
• Resource a portfolio of product development in consultation with product stakeholders
• Liaise with senior management as required, and contribute to the evolution of ISA team services.

Location: Black Mountain (Canberra) ACT, Clayton (Melbourne) VIC or Kensington (Perth) WA
Salary: AU$115k to AU$135k per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will have a minimum of ~10 years’ experience in testing software applications coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications in IT (or have equivalent relevant work experience). 

You will also have:

• Leadership or mentoring experience, either formal or informal.
• Knowledge and experience in testing analysis techniques, processes and methodologies.
• Experience conducting functional, integration, regression and performance testing.
• Achievement in leading software product test teams in an Agile-Scrum delivery environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to develop strong professional relationships.
• Experience testing both front-end and back-end web application systems
