The National Measurement Institute (NMI), a division within the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, is Australia's peak measurement body responsible for biological, chemical, legal, physical and trade measurement. The NMI is internationally recognised as one of the world's leading national metrology institutes. Our staff deliver cutting edge measurement services and research from unique facilities across Australia.

The NMI is seeking fill two key leadership roles:

• 12 month non-ongoing General Manager within the Analytical Services Branch.
• Ongoing General Manager within the Physical Metrology Branch.

As a Senior Executive Service Band 1 General Manager, you will play a significant role in contributing to the strategic direction and leadership of the NMI, delivering reform and driving change in both policy and operations. The roles require strategic, innovative and self-motivated people with exceptional influencing and relationship management skills and the drive and initiative to make a difference.

The successful applicants will have a proven track record in the following areas:

• Proven ability to build and maintain productive working relationships to achieve cross-government outcomes.
• Proven ability to work as part of a senior multidisciplinary team to achieve organisational objectives in a policy and service delivery environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Highly developed leadership and people management skills.
