Director, Security Operations

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for Director, Security Operations vacancy within the Security Operations section, Security branch.

The Director, Security Operations has the primary responsibility for the effective provision of physical security to ensure the safe and accessible conduct of business within Parliament House.

As the Director you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
  • Providing leadership and strategic direction over security operations and functions of the Parliamentary Security Service (PSS).
  • Managing and coordinating emergency management, including undertaking the role of Chief Fire Warden for Parliament House.
  • Working collaboratively with the Australian Federal Police (AFP), key stakeholders within Parliament House, as well as other stakeholders within the Australian Government and Industry.
Eligibility and/or Job Specific Requirements: The successful applicant will be required to have appropriate experience in Government Protective Security and experience in emergency management. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
