Centrelink, Medicare and child support workers will take fresh strike action on Friday.

The public sector union has announced rolling strikes from Friday March 17 after another round of failed negotiations.

Recent talks, overseen by the Fair Work Commission, failed to break the impasse with the Human Services department over pay and conditions.

For workers and union reps, it is another sign that the hardline bargaining policy set up under Tony Abbott continues to prevent a reasonable deal being struck.

“The department and Employment Minister Michaelia Cash continue to ignore the real disadvantage to working parents this dispute is really about, and that's why our members in DHS say they want to resume the industrial action they've been taking for well over a year,” CPSU national secretary Nadine Flood said on Thursday.
