The Federal Government has agreed to a deal proposed by the Greens over laws to crack down on multinational tax avoidance.

The agreement is set to see multinational companies with global revenue of more than $1 billion forced to disclose more information about their accounts.

The Turnbull Government also agreed to no longer exempt private companies with revenue of more than $200 million from having to disclose their tax affairs.

Greens leader Richard Di Natale said it was a huge win.

“We have government legislation and two significant amendments that will now become law as a result of this arrangement,” Mr Di Natale said.

The Federal Opposition has slammed the deal it describes as “dirty”.

Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen said the Greens were part of a “new Coalition party” of tax transparency traitors.
