One of Australia’s most reputable Federal Government Departments is looking to engage an enthusiastic and experienced Data Analyst to join their dynamic team leading the data migration exercise within the department. The successful Data Analyst will be offered an initial 12 month contract with a view to further extend at an attractive hourly rate. 

The successful Data Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to;

• Undertaking data migration activities including identification of data requirements, data analysis and cleansing, source to target data mapping, and the development of data migration plan and SQL scripts for data validation;
• Identifying data sources within the departments legacy and externally based system/s
• Analysing and assessing data, ETL development and documenting source to target mappings.
• Leading the end to end Data Migration exercise and supporting the Project Manager to meet project timelines
• Tracking and management of data migration risks and issues

The successful Data Analyst must have experience in the following;

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in working as a Technical/Systems/Data Analyst with extensive data quality, data migration and data integration experience
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques
• Demonstrated experience in technical writing, documenting guidelines and operational procedures including the ability to develop a data migration plan, schedule and test plans
• Ability in developing and maintaining SQL scripts for data validation
• Proven end to end data migration experience including design, analysis, data extraction and cleansing and data quality assurance
• Experience with data visualisation and business intelligence software (e.g. Power BI) is highly desirable
