One of Australia's most highly regarded Federal Government Departments is looking to an engage an experienced Water Resource Manager / River Environment Manager to be based in the ACT, in a five-year program of work changing the face of irrigation. You will provide operation and management of a core river system and mentor river operators. The successful candidate will be offered an initial 3 year contract with extension options of a further two years, at a rewarding hourly rate.
The successful Water Resource Manager / River Environment Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to;
- Supporting in the day to day operation and management of a core river system;
- Assisting in the development of rules related to the implementation of Sustainable Development projects
- Contributing in the finalisation of the Departments Manuals
- Providing high level of strategic input to the policy development required to deliver capacity issues
- Delivering high-level technical advice to support the department operations.
The successful Water Resource Manager / River Environment Manager must have experience in the following, but not limited to;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in operation and management of Water Systems;
- Detailed knowledge of the Water Systems
- Prior knowledge of the physical assists of Water Systems
- Proven experience in mentoring and training staff.
