A reputable Federal Government department is currently seeking a IT Security Manager to join a dynamic team working on major technology projects that will transform business in several areas such as virtualisation, data analytics, mobility and cloud within the department. The successful IT Security Manager will be offered an initial 6 month contract with a view to further extend at a rewarding hourly rate.

The successful IT Security Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to;

• Provide oversight and supervision of security management processes i.e. change management, penetration testing, vulnerability management, and logging and monitoring
• Developing and managing IT Security policy and formal security framework
• Identifying and managing security risks, threats, vulnerabilities and treatment
• Improving processes to identify, assess and facilitate the management of IT security risks including planning for future challenges in security requirements and IT trends.
• Monitor networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur

The successful IT Security Manager must have experience in the following;

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an IT Security Manager
• Demonstrated ability to apply IT security policies, standards, guidelines and processes in a multi-platform IT environment.
• In-depth understanding of IT Security methodologies and frameworks
• Strong exposure to Cloud platforms and the associated Security considerations
• Experience providing strategic and operational advice to senior management
• Solid analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to persuade, convince and influence stakeholders and staff in regard to IT security
