The duties of the role:

  • Development and deployment of a dedicated evidence synthesis capability across the Organisation enhancing the Scheme's use of evidence-informed practice in delivering outcomes for participants, carers and family members.
  • Shaping and maintaining relationships and partnerships with external research bodies, including specialist agencies and relevant academic and technical experts, to ensure that the wider disability research community is effectively engaged to deliver benefits for the Scheme and for people with a disability across Australia
  • Building the organisations approach to innovation in delivering practice improvements and contemporary services and supports, to improve outcomes for participants (people with disabilities, their carers and families) and deliver a sustainable scheme.
Examples of activities to be supported include:
  • Preparation and implementation of surveys, focus groups and interviews
  • Qualitative and/or quantititve data collection and analysis, in accordance with standard operating procedures, standards and ethics requirements.
  • Preparation of ethics applications.
  • Development of theory of change, program logic models and evaluation frameworks and plans, in conjunction with Directors, for the research and evaluation program.
  • Preparation of reports, journal articles and conference presentations.
  • Develop, implement and manage operational plans processes and protocols, in conjunction with Directors, for the research and evaluation program.
  • Correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support, including maintaining/using information systems, databases, websites and record-keeping systems, organising meetings, preparing agendas and documenting minutes.


What you will bring to the role

  • Relevant degree from a recognised university and research or evaluation experience and/or education/training.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, managing and analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data.
  • Demonstrated awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling.
  • Sound computer literacy, including the ability to use or learn software packages as required for data management and analysis, such as Nvivo or Stata.
  • Experience in writing reports and academic publications.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diversity of colleagues and clients.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, plan work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.

Must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen with eligibility to clear a National Police Check
