The purpose of the team:
The Income Support Means Test team provides policy expertise and programme management for the means testing programme. The team has a critical role in delivery modernisation including providing programme expertise to inform the re-design of the way we do our business; improving our systems; making it easier for staff to do their jobs and making it easier for customers to access our services and payments.

About the role:
Senior Programme Officers provide operational expertise to support the delivery of the Agency's programmes. Working under limited direction of the Assistant Director, they contribute to strategic planning for programmes, changes in workplace practices and business improvement initiatives, play a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and deliver programmes in accordance with business requirements and work area priorities.

What your duties will include:

  • promote and implement programmes administered by the Agency.
  • contribute to the development of new policies and support implementation.
  • provide expert advice to staff and stakeholders on policy, procedures and programmes.
  • build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues and improve access to services, payments and programmes offered by the Agency.
  • assist with strategic planning for programmes particularly for service delivery needs of different community group.
  • contribute to relevant business planning and develop strategies to improve against key performance indicators.
  • analyse and report on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance.
  • prepare draft reports, briefing papers and Ministerial correspondence for review by senior employees.
  • perform independent research and analysis and prepare reports on relevant programme activities and/or project milestones.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Project/Programme Officer experience
  • Strong adminsitration and systems experience
  • A proven ability to effectively develop and implement polices and procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience within the Public Sector is highly regarded

You MUST be an Australian Citizen and eligible to clear a National Police Check to be successful in this role
