Admin Support Officer

The Position
CSIRO Learning & Development are seeking their next administrator superstar to join their busy and supportive team in either Canberra, ACT or Clayton, VIC. Reporting to the manager of the Learning Support Services Team the successful applicant will be responsible for contributing to providing an exceptional learn experience for CSIRO individuals, teams and leaders.

You will be part of a wider team that partners with Learning Consultants to build capability by promoting and scheduling programs, ensuring program evaluations are completed and courses are reviewed for continuous improvement. You will also assist in managing contracts with external providers and invoice payments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer liaison; work with line managers and participants to understand their learning needs and respond to their learning and development enquiries.
  • Contribute to the schedule of CSIRO learning programs including engaging our external partners and ensuring timing of programs maximizes participation taking into account key organisational priorities and events.
  • Support effective program uptake through monitoring program evaluation, effectiveness and efficiency including monitoring costs of program delivery and identifying efficiencies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of accessible L&D presence across CSIRO including intranet, targeted marketing materials, and creating a social media presence where appropriate.
  • Providing pre-program and virtual room support as such securing speakers, rescheduling to adapt to changing schedules, arranging catering, ensuring appropriate access to technology, preparing training rooms, virtually troubleshooting problems when they arise and management of program cancellation policy

Location: Black Mountain, ACT or Clayton, VIC
Salary: $61K - $78K plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified Term – 2 years and 6 months

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience understanding and solving customer problems, and offering considered solutions and advice to provide a positive and effective learning experience for our line managers and participants.
  • Experience performing administration tasks for multiple stakeholders in a fast paced setting with competing priorities
  • A team player with experience contributing as a member of a team and cooperating with colleagues to achieve shared outcomes to provide a seamless service and create a positive team culture.
  • Proficiency with multiple software packages, including; Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint), Human Resource Information Systems (such as SAP), and Learning Management Systems
  • Experience organising and scheduling events, meetings, and rosters for multiple parties, including minute taking in meetings.
  • The ability and willingness to generate improved solutions in work situations, trying creative ways to deal with problems and opportunities.
