The Position:

We are seeking an experienced Finance and Project Advisor to join the CSIRO Finance Team. In this diverse role, you will be the key Financial Management provider to a Program. You will be accountable for all aspects of the Financial Management service catalogue relevant to the Program. Working closely with the Business Unit and Corporate Financial Management teams, you will ensure accurate and compliant financial records for the Program. As you may be responsible for multiple Programs, your ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously will be critical to your success in this role.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring accurate and compliant financial records for the Program.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager and Financial Performance and Strategy Co-ordinator with the budget process.
  • Assisting the Financial Performance and Strategy Co-ordinator with identification of financial risks and remediation options.
  • Ensuring all relevant deadlines are met for the Program in relation to Financial Management deliverables.  
  • Providing support for project operations and management.

Location:   Brisbane (Dutton Park), QLD, Geelong, VIC or Canberra (Black Mountain), ACT
Salary:       $80k to $91k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be successful, you will need:

  • A relevant Certificate or tertiary qualification, such as Accounting or Finance or relevant work experience in a financial environment.
  • A history of ensuring data integrity through demonstrated attention to detail and quality data input, including proactive problem identification and appropriate responses to resolve issues.
  • Knowledge and experience in project and management accounting as well as proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Proven ability identify and analyse complex or ill-defined problems, to develop appropriate and accurately communicate findings and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • A proven history of establishing strong relationships with stakeholders to achieve a high level of trust
  • A history of contributing to multiple teams with varying needs of support.
