ON Accelerate Experience Program Manager

The position:

The ON accelerator is Australia’s national science and technology accelerator. ON exists to help Australia’s best researchers and their collaborators translate great science and technology into commercially viable outcomes that will form the foundations of Australia’s future.  Supported by funds from the National Innovation and Science Agenda, ON is open to all Australian Universities, CSIRO and Publicly Funded Research Agencies. 

As the ON Accelerate Experience Program Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of the ON Accelerate program.  Striving for best practice in design and delivery, you will manage the processes for program applications, evaluation and selection. Drawing on your genuine passion to see great Australian research translate into real world outcomes, you will fearlessly experiment with new approaches as you curate the curriculum and evolve the program over time.

You will have a strong interest in Science and Innovation in Australia and previous experience working with the Australian innovation ecosystem and investment community.  As part of this dynamic role, you will build connections with local incubators, accelerators and influencers that will support and fuel growth for ON Accelerate teams. In order to secure the experts, supporters and community required for growth, the position will be ambassadorial in nature, both internal to CSIRO and externally.

Specifically you will:

  • Drive the strategy, positioning and core processes across the ON Accelerate Program.
  • Define and manage the budget required for execution of all elements of ON Accelerate.
  • Be the Community Manager for all active cohorts in ON Accelerate, providing a high quality in-person experience.
  • Work with established legal frameworks and implement participation & mentor agreements.
  • Curate and manage the ON evaluation panel for ON Accelerate applications.
  • Build a strong personal network in the Australian innovation ecosystem, as well as an Australia-wide ON Accelerate Facilitator network.

Location:      North Ryde (Sydney) New South Wales
Salary:          AU $80k to AU 91k per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered for this role, you will hold a degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Science, Engineering, Entrepreneurship/Innovation or similar; or have equivalent experience in a related area.  You will also have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a history of professional behaviours.
  • Sound experience (~12+ months) in the design, management and delivery of an accelerator, incubation program (or equivalent) for start-ups and new ventures.
  • Strong time management and problem solving abilities with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  • The capacity and desire to represent the ON Program at a significant number of after-hours events hosted by pipeline and industry partners.
