Facilities Coordinator

The Position

As a Facilities Coordinator, you will be part of CSIRO Business and Infrastructure (CBIS) which is responsible for providing support to scientific staff by developing, maintaining and managing, the buildings, laboratories and other research infrastructure across CSIRO owned and leased sites.

You will be responsible for the general day to day facility operations, and the management of maintenance, and repairs for the Werribee and Parkville sites. You will also assist in the development of maintenance and services contracts and developing budgets and cash flows associated with these activities.

To be successful in the role you will be willing to respond to out of hours and call-out responsibilities covering all sites within the designated area and require the ability to be able to access all equipment in these locations.

Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining effective day-to-day relationships with all site occupants in respect of the provision of property services as per the Service Level Agreements.
  • Supporting staff with regard to specific site information and issues such as services shut down and testing arrangements.
  • Assisting CBIS Management with the development of site maintenance plans and reports.
  • Developing and managing minor works projects, including office fit-outs and staff relocations in offices, laboratories and other research accommodation.
  • Coordinating site "soft" services including cleaning, security, grounds maintenance and waste management. 

Location:          Melbourne (Clayton) VIC
Salary:               $82k to $93k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:             Specified term of 12 months

To be successful you will need:

  • A relevant trade or tertiary qualification in Building Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Services or equivalent experience.
  • A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel to CSIRO sites in Victoria as required.
  • To be able to undertake out of hours and site call-outs for all Victorian sites.
  • Proven experience in the coordination of repairs, maintenance and minor works and services.
  • Technical knowledge of building and related engineering trades and services (including hard and soft services).
  • Solid Interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
