Senior Business Analyst

 The Position:  

The CSIRO IMT team is looking for a Senior Business Analyst who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the process to address the assessment and triage of non-standard requests which regularly come to IMT. This includes being the key point of coordination to understand the requirements for non-standard requests and analyse the resource impact on each of the teams which might be involved in delivering on the requests. This person will focus on helping IMT understand how non-standard requests can be delivered end to end.

 Your duties will include:

  • Responsibility for ensuring that non-standard requests are appropriately managed and integrated into IM&T portfolio of work, or addressed utilising IM&T’s existing capabilities
  • Facilitating the documentation of solution architecture for current and future IT solutions
  • Conducting analyses of business processes and requirements to help develop solutions and options
  • Leading the coordination and analysis of non-standard requests as they come to IM&T
  • Researching, providing advice or working with other team members to identify requirements and options to deliver or address new or unexpected non-standard requests
  • Tracking a backlog of requests and requirements to help identify where new or enhancements to IM&T services might be required.
  • Visual modelling and metamodeling of both infrastructure and architecture using Visio and Orbus iServer or other similar tools.

This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen and hold a current Australian Security Clearance or have the ability and willingness to apply.

To be considered you will have:

  • An Associate Diploma, Diploma, Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead complex analyses across teams to develop artefacts which assist management in setting priorities and making decisions
  • Ability to harness business analysis tools and techniques
  • Experience in the development and support of solutions developed on enterprise grade platforms.
  • Experience in requirements management and analysis and translation and simplification of requirements into key activities
  • Experience or the ability to demonstrate a commitment to delivering outcomes in eResearch, scientific computing or other innovation centric environments is highly desirable.
