Director CSIRO Global 

  • Take the lead in developing & promoting CSIRO’s global vision

The Opportunity 

As the Director, CSIRO Global, you will lead and develop a small team of professionals who will support CSIRO’s growth agenda, and the development and coordination of international programs.  Building on your track record of defining and executing successful market entries, you will take the lead on CSIRO’s global growth initiatives, consistently challenging the current view of our international opportunities.

Specifically you will:

  • Influence CSIRO’s Executive and leadership teams; leveraging past experiences to drive an organisational shift towards strategically aligned global opportunities.
  • Identify future opportunities for CSIRO to utilise its deep science to deliver innovation and commercialisation in the global world.
  • Build strong relationships with CSIRO Business Unit Directors to influence their thinking and approach.
  • Establish effective networks that lead to market entry and development into strategically aligned countries.
  • Investigate opportunities for entry into countries with historic relationships to deliver humanity opportunities, such as Africa and India.
  • Represent CSIRO in international forums to enhance and develop the organisation’s international brand, business and networks.
  • Advise and support the CSIRO Board, Chief Executive and Executive Team on leveraging our Global initiatives.

Location:           Negotiable – Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne
Salary:               Attractive salary to be negotiated

To be considered you will need:

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiation and representational skills.
  • The ability to provide high level strategic leadership in a complex organisation.
  • Previous experience developing a global vision, engaging key stakeholders, and delivering outstanding implementation resulting in increased global opportunities.
  • Expertise and experience in defining and executing successful market entries and building productive long term relationships in overseas markets.
  • Experience building global capability through influencing key executive stakeholders.
  • The ability to influence key initiatives that drive change and continuous improvement – including cultural change.
  • Proven ability to deliver results in an environment of ambiguity, and lead multiple initiatives.
  • The ability to engage effectively at Board and Executive Team level, maintaining strong professional and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Current Australia Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance (or willingness and ability to obtain one).
