The Position
The Policy and Governance team at CSIRO is currently looking for a Policy Project Officer to shape CSIRO's policy and procedure framework to make it simple, streamlined and easy to follow.
Under the guidance of Manager, Policy and Governance, you will be working on the Policy Project that aims to identify and fill gaps in CSIRO’s policies and procedures, which enable CSIRO staff to work safely and within our legal and ethical obligations. You will develop a project plan, conduct an initial gap analysis, develop a consistent framework in consultation with ESS areas and then work with responsible policy authors to implement the proposed changes. You will be expected to identify gaps and/or options to streamline documentation, liaise with the responsible areas (HR, HSE, IMT, BD&C and others) and develop an online set of documents that are consistent in style and tone. You will also facilitate the streamlining of procedures and make them consistent across areas.

Salary: AU$83,687 - AU$94,679 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be successful you will need
Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed.
1. Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate internally with diverse business groups across a multi-faceted organisation and externally if required.
2. High-level writing skills, particularly documents for policies and procedures, and technical and active voice.
3. Proven ability to be extremely proactive, well organised and self-motivated.
4. Experience completing gap analysis, distil and articulate information in a concise and straight forward manner;
5. Adaptable to rapidly changing timelines.
6. Experience liaising across a large agency or department.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Technical understanding of HR, HSE, security legislative requirements.
2. Web authoring using tools such as Sitecore.
A National Police Check is required to be lodged by the successful applicant and clearance to be received before commencing.
