The Position
We are seeking a PhD qualified Statistical Geneticist or Bioinformatician to join the Genomics Insights Team to help us develop new treatment approaches that boost the capabilities of the immune system. The ideal candidate would have advanced experience in genomics, systems biology and/or immunology.
You will join the high-performing Transformational Bioinformatics Group from the Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) and will collaborate closely with world experts in Immunology from Adelaide University, Gene Therapy from Westmead, Children’s Medical Research Institute as well as molecular technology from Jinan University, China.
If you have the capability to develop and lead a new research area that investigates gene editing technology for modulating immune responses in patients, such as CAR-T and TCR-T immunotherapies, then this is the opportunity for you!
• Carry out innovative, impactful research of strategic importance to CSIRO that will, where possible, lead to novel and important scientific outcomes.
• Develop innovate concepts, theories, tools and techniques related to the analysis of the T-cell repertoire.
• Undertake regular reviews of relevant literature and patents.
• Produce high quality scientific and/or engineering papers suitable for publication in quality journals, for client reports and granting of patents.

Salary: AU$83k – AU$94k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Please note: To be eligible for this role you must have no more than 3 years (or part time equivalent) of postdoctoral research experience.
The successful applicant may be required to obtain and provide a National Police Check or equivalent or if the successful candidate is not an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, they may be required to undergo additional security clearances and tests as part of their visa application.
The successful applicant will also be required to undergo standard pre-employment medical and audio checks.
