Research Technician - Fieldwork Coordinator
CSIRO is seeking an experienced Research Technician – Field Work Coordinator to join the Carbon Cycling & Vegetation Processes team within the Land and Water Business Unit.
In this diverse role, you will provide high-level technical and logistical support to a range of projects related to Natural Capital Accounting, with a focus on carbon dynamics in soils and vegetation to inform policy around emissions reduction and accounting of greenhouse gas emissions. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient co-ordination of fieldwork, particularly in inventory/sampling of plant biomass, debris and soil organic carbon. This fieldwork may sometimes be in remote locations and camping may occasionally be required.
You will liaise with other CSIRO technicians and industry collaborators to organise logistics and provide innovative and practical input to ensure field work protocols are as safe and efficient as possible. In addition, you will use your data management and curation skills to collect, process and analyse data.
Location: Melbourne (Clayton) or Canberra
Salary: AU$83k - AU$94k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
