The Executive Assistant supporting the Director – Governance plays a proactive role in the smooth running of the Governance Team. In addition to providing high-level administrative support, project support and diary management, the role is also a contact point for matters arising across the team. The position involves supporting the General Counsel/Board Secretary and actively contributing and sharing knowledge across the broader Commercial and Governance Administration Support team to deliver best practice outcomes.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Governance team, including preparing correspondence, communication briefings, presentations, official records, and reports.
  • Actively contributing to the success of maintaining and managing the Director's office.
  • Acting as a communication focal point for interaction between the Director and the CSIRO community, and collaborating with other teams.
  • Being a contact point for staff regarding matters that may arise in the Director's absence using your judgement.
  • Coordinating and managing major events for the Governance Group.

Location: Canberra, ACT
Salary: AU$85k – AU$96k pa plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing secretarial and administrative support to a senior manager or executive in a fast paced and complex environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and in using enterprise wide business systems.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise demands and escalate issues when required.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholder groups. 
  • Proven ability to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information and use appropriate judgment and discretion.
