We are seeking a self-motivated Analyst Programmer with Java experience to join us in our ePublishing team. You will be part of a small team that develops and supports an e-commerce business through which book, journal and magazine products are sold.

As the Analyst Programmer, you will work through the full development cycle using agile methodology to build and support digital publishing systems. You will also contribute to the online digital publishing and XML digital production workflow.

Your duties will include:

• Support the development of the digital publishing systems and platform (under the supervision and direction of the ePublishing Manager).
• Provide technical support and advice to Production Team to ensure smooth workflows.
• Maintain production systems and recommend improvements to streamline production processes and to ensure system interoperability with external publishing partners.
• Support the development of digital initiatives and website functionalities.
• Assist in the monitoring of business websites for security and 24/7 functionality and take appropriate actions as needed.

Salary: AU$85k - AU$96k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience working within an Analyst Programmer or Developer position.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Java Web Application development and Enterprise class RMDBs (such as Oracle and MSSQL).
• Experience or extensive knowledge in JSON/XML Based web applications development and API Design and Development.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting the continuous improvement of web technology and service offerings.
• Excellent communication skills and self-starter with proven ability to work independently and as a team player.

Eligibility

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and provide a National Police Check or equivalent. To be eligible to work within this role in CSIRO you must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or an Australian Permanent Resident.
