We are looking for a proactive and motivated Administration Support Officer to join the CSIRO Land & Water (L&W) Operations Team. Supporting the business unit activities across one of our largest sites, Black Mountain site, you will play a significant role within the team. 

In this key operational support role, you will use your exceptional organisational and administrative skills to efficiently support a range of operational activities, and use best practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the business unit.

This will be a great opportunity for a strong administrator, or an early-career facilities administrator or office coordinator, to broaden their skillset.  

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking a range of administrative tasks frequently under specific instruction, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitoring and following up on local issues that need to be drawn to the Research Operations Manager’s (ROM) attention, and assisting the ROM to manage L&W site budgets and cost centres.
  • Assisting in organising cross business unit site-wide activities.
  • Working with the respective building management committees at Black Mountain to ensure appropriate accommodation for L&W staff. 
  • Coordinating accommodation moves and changes of L&W staff.
  • Working with technical staff, CBIS and HSE to ensure safe and effective facilities are provided including L&W safety systems (e.g., gas monitors).
  • Checking and verifying invoices for shared supplies (e.g., bulk gases, stationery).

Location: Black Mountain, ACT
Salary: AU$66K – AU$84K plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Experience in coordinating and providing administrative support. 
  • Experience in office management, facilities coordination or related areas is preferrable. 
  • Strong administrative, organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to implement effective office processes & systems. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with an ability to work through complex issues to resolution.
  • Ability to manage workloads and priorities within tight deadlines and meet operational targets.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident currently residing in Australia. 

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and provide a National Police Check or equivalent.
