CSIRO is seeking two professional receptionists to work part-time at our Kensington and Waterford sites for 25 hours per week. This role would suit an experienced receptionist looking for a new challenge, or someone looking to gain further experience in administrative work. 

The role of receptionist is the first point of contact for staff and visitors at CSIRO. This role is a locality-based position and although you will have a primary “home” site you may be required to work across any local CSIRO site. In this role, you will be focused on quality customer service – on the phone, in correspondence, and in person. The successful candidates will be tasked with providing high-quality administrative support to CBIS, undertaking all tasks in accordance with CSIRO procedures, and displaying behaviours that reflect the CSIRO values.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing a high-quality reception service as the first point of contact for external and internal clients including efficient referral, enquiries and follow up to all staff and clients.
  • Undertaking a number of administrative tasks including issuing of security passes, coordinating incoming and outgoing mail, coordinating courier services, booking venues, taxis, and other shared resources.
  • Providing administrative support where required in respect to the vehicle fleet e.g. assisting the fleet manager with transporting vehicles for servicing and repairs.
  • Undertaking other CBIS tasks including maintaining spreadsheets and databases, producing signage and preparing miscellaneous correspondence, general finance support to CBIS staff.
  • Assisting in the security of the sites, including the management and maintenance of keys, proximity cards and related registers. Processing and creation of staff identity cards. Monitoring and management of key safes. 
  • Responding courteously and efficiently to client requests and keep the client informed about ongoing progress. 

Location: Kensington, WA and Waterford, WA
Salary: AU$49k - AU$63k plus up to 15.4% superannuation (pro-rata for part time)

To be considered you will need:

  • Experience and skills in working in a reception/customer service oriented environment and an Australian ‘C’ Class Driving License
  • A proven ability to show initiative, work autonomously, actively contribute and work as a team member, and share relevant and useful information.
  • The ability and willingness to undertake a range of administrative tasks.
  • A history of showing discretion and tact when interacting with external and internal clients.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work across sites in Perth and work extra hours as required covering sick, recreation, and other leave.
  • Sound keyboard skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.

Eligibility

To be appointed to this position you must be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen, or an Australian Permanent Resident currently residing in Australia.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and provide a National Police Check or equivalent.
