CSIRO is the custodian of extensive collections of animal and plant specimens that contribute to national and international biological knowledge, and underpin a significant part of the country’s taxonomic, genetic, agricultural, and ecological research.
As a Technical Assistant (Digital Curator) with the National Research Collections of Australia (NRCA), you will support the digitisation of over 15 Million specimens held at CSIRO. You will prepare specimens for digitisation, drawing on your deep understanding of nomenclature, imaging and post-processing, databasing, and advancing the care of specimens through digital curation. As part of a team at the cutting edge of digitisation, informatics and biodiversity research, you will have the opportunity to work closely with digitisation staff, curators and collections management staff across the NRCA collections.
Location: Black Mountain (Canberra) ACT
Salary: AU$66k - AU$84k per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation
