The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Sustainability Scientist to join our CSIRO Land & Water business unit, and undertake collaborative research for building adaptive and resilient livelihoods & ecosystems in the Australia and Asia-Pacific region.
In this role, you will be part of CSIRO’s Livelihoods and Adaptive Development (LAAD) team that develops theories and process-based methods to test ideas and solutions for dealing with regional challenges and improving resilience. Our work in this space aims to address a range of interlinked social-ecological and community well-being issues related to climate change & disaster resilience, natural resource management, sustainable regional development, agri-food systems, and Indigenous aspirations and rights.
As a Sustainability Scientist, you will bring your expertise in transdisciplinary systems science to primarily collaborate with a range of external stakeholders, and address underlying root causes of these community-based challenges and assist in planning, preparing & conducting research activities. You will also represent CSIRO externally in public forums, and this role will involve travel in Australia, including remote or rural areas, and the Asia-Pacific region.
