Do you have experience in delivering commercial services for procurement and want to contribute toAustralia’s Defence and security?

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group is a key enabler to the Australian Defence Force through the acquisition and sustainment of military equipment and capability.

With a combined Australian Public Service and military workforce of around 5,000 people, Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group manages the delivery of more than 150 complex projects and over 100 sustainment products, with an annual budget in excess of $12 billion.

As an Assistant Secretary within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, you will lead a Branch delivering specialist procurement and commercial advice and services to Defence, including:

  • Policy and Practice;
  • Procurement Professionalisation;
  • Contract Service Delivery; and
  • Defence supplier relationships.

To be a strong contender, you will be a flexible and collaborative leader who is prepared to take calculated risks. You will be resilient, have proven high level communication skills and be personally accountable for the quality of advice and the delivery of results.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis.  To be eligible, an applicant must be, or intend to become, an Australian citizen.  These are security-designated positions.  The successful applicant may be required to undergo security assessments to the highest level.  The positions are located inCanberra.
