The Aeronautical Life Support Logistics Management Unit (ALSLMU)  within the Surveillance & Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) sustains Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) used by the Army, Airforce and Navy on 18 different Aviation platforms. It provides the ADF with a SME on ALSE matters which directly supports the delivery of ALSE equipment. The unit comprises a multi-discipline military, APS and industry workforce delivering:

  • In-Service management to ensure efficient and effective operation of current and future equipment fleets
  • Provide Military Air Operators with recommendations supporting the use of ALSE across the ADF
  • Provide authoritative engineering and technical support to meet regulatory requirements
  • Plan Fleet Replacement and Upgrades
  • Procuring and sustaining ALSE
  • Manage ALSLMU inventory in accordance with extant ADF policy
  • Govern and manage ALSE In-service support contracts.

This leadership role is accountable for supplying and maintaining cost effective safety compliant, fit for purpose equipment to meet the requirements of the ADF. The position also fulfils a directorship role for SRSPO through membership of the Executive Steering Group. SRSPO is seeking applicants with appropriate experience and comprehensive knowledge of asset management of complex technical equipment. Applicants should demonstrate they have the skills and experience to achieve these key result areas:

  • Undertakes strategic business planning and ongoing performance management that delivers the required performance, identifies and manages risks and acts on opportunities to improve and innovate;
  • Apply financial, business and technical acumen to ensure materiel sustainment and commercial strategies, plans and agreements, processes and procedures deliver ALSE Product Schedule requirements;
  • Manages key relationships and engages with the ALSE Capability Manager (the customer), industry partners and other key internal and external stakeholders.
