Currently, WaterNSW is looking for an experienced Land Use Planning Adviser based at our brand new office in Parramatta.

About the position…

You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivery of identified land use planning elements under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act. You will also be required in this role to assess applications for development impacting water supply infrastructure through analysing and reviewing all external stakeholder strategic planning. 

You will enjoy working autonomously and have advance written communication skills. You will have a strong work ethic and drive to achieve outcomes. Working to deadlines is what you love. Stakeholder engagement will be key to this role so your ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships will really shine through.

About you…

To be successful in this position you will have:

• Degree in town, regional, urban or environmental planning; environmental management/ science; geography or natural resources.
• Extensive experience in environmental or urban and regional planning.
• Experience in the preparation and interpretation of environmental planning instruments, strategic plans, policies and planning tools to guide future development in a manner consistent with the protection of environmental values.
• Experience in methodologies for the strategic environmental assessment of land or catchments (including GIS dependent methods).
