Deputy Director-General Corporate and Capability

Senior Executive Service Band 3 equivalent role

The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is seeking a senior executive with exemplary judgment to fill the position of Deputy Director-General Corporate and Capability.

As a member of ASD’s Executive, you will substantially contribute to shaping the agency’s strategic priorities by anticipating and responding to issues that may impact its operations, upholding good governance and decision-making, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

As Deputy Director-General, you will report directly to the Director-General and be responsible for governance, corporate management and oversight, and capability management to enable ASD to achieve its missions. The role will lead Corporate and Capability through its continuing maturity as a high-performing, professional team providing operational and business enablement services, support and advice to internal and external customers.

You will demonstrate an ability to deliver organisational outcomes across a range of functional corporate areas and foreign and domestic relations. You will bring experience in exercising sound judgment to manage competing requirements in a highly dynamic strategic, technical and social environment.

The role is Canberra based. While experience working within the National Intelligence Community is not mandatory, you will need to have a deep understanding of government processes and demonstrated success working with Ministers, and across the Australian public service. The successful applicant will undergo security assessments to the highest level.
