The Assistant Director will play a leading role in executing major new technology commercialisations for DST, and concentrating research efforts to achieve business innovation and Defence capability impact.

In particular the role will establish and develop:

• New industry and technology linkages for DST S&T Divisions to create technology transfer pathways.
• Strategies for DST to participate fully in leveraging programs targeted at innovation and industry-led research collaborations, with a particular focus on the priority areas under the Next Generations Technologies Fund Strategies to capture and commercialise valuable new IP created from internal research programs.
• Commercialisation arrangements with industry that lead to enhanced Defence capabilities

Assistant Director Technology Transfer will support the Director of Commercialisation and Intellectual Property (IP) in the development and implementation of Strategic technology transfer Initiatives leading to enhanced defence capability.

The position will have a specific focus on the commercialisation of technologies and will be expected to manage all aspects of commercialisation across the DST IP portfolio. Working across the entire DST commercialisation process, the position will seek and qualify intellectual property disclosures with commercial potential from DST researchers and work closely with researchers to protect market and commercially exploit DST intellectual property.
