The Role

As the largest and most complex program in ADF’s history the FSP requires long-term cooperation and coordination with selected international partners, inter-governmental departments and key industry stakeholders. To facilitate its successful delivery, it is essential that all aspects of Australian and international export/import control legislation and policies are understood, implemented and managed. The FSP Commercial Directorate is responsible for the provision of these services to the Director General FSP and across Collins Class Submarine activities.

The Export and Technology Controls Manager provides services across both the FSP and Collins programs. These services include:

  • Management of export compliance and technology controls
  • Developing and implementing access control policies and procedures
  • Providing advice and assurance in relation to import and export control laws, and customs regulations
  • Providing advice and assurance in relation to Australian, European and US export and technology control regimes

Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a highly experienced Export and Technology Controls Manager who has excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to liaise with people from a range of disciplines and backgrounds. The Incumbent will possess demonstrated export and technology controls experience, preferably both Australian and International, along with commercial and business acumen.

The right person will also demonstrate the ability to proactively establish and maintain constructive cross team communication, and the ability to manage a high workload with minimal supervision. The incumbent will also be accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes.

The ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines while possessing a proactive and enthusiastic attitude.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Highly developed collaboration and cooperation skills and behaviours.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
