The Role
The ICT Project Manager is accountable for complex ICT project management within an integrated workforce.

The role requires:

  • in-depth knowledge and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements
  • leading a multi-disciplinary team, including outsourced service providers to deliver quality outcomes
  • experience in contract management
  • strong written and oral communication skills, including strong negotiation and interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with senior officers
  • managing technical staff to implement ICT solutions and achieve results
  • managing one or more projects and ensure that appropriate methods and tools for planning, development, and testing is applied to deliver outcomes on time and budget
  • complex analysis, advice, facilitation, process development and review, to help inform decision making
  • leading and participating in stakeholder management activities to ensure positive contributions to capability outcomes
  • managing risks and issues ensuring that appropriate treatments, processes and reporting frameworks are developed to mitigate these effects.

Please note, actual available positions are currently based in Canberra, ACT however there will be forecast positions available within the next 12 months based in Melbourne, VIC.

CIOG is seeking highly experienced Project Managers with a variety of skills and experience in delivering and supporting the delivery of complex ICT projects for government. If successful, you will lead and contribute to significant technology changes to Defence’s ICT capabilities.

Our Team
ICTDD is responsible for program and project delivery including the development of capability acquisition proposals, and the design, development and implementation of capability solutions in the Defence Single Information Environment (SIE).

The Division is also responsible for related industry engagement, consolidation and modernisation of Defence systems to improve service delivery to clients, and increase efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
