The Role
The APS5 Maintenance Systems Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex maintenance support work within an integrated workforce. Liaising with external stakeholders on schedules and scopes of work is key to the role ensuring issues are resolved within appropriate time frames. Supporting the Product Managers, they will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct investigations and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results.

This position will project manage work plans, schedules, budgets, safety, and authorise the progress of activities. Using procurement and budget management knowledge, they will be required to process procurement suites of documents as a primary role.

The role will interpret and provide advice within the Materiel Management function area based on legislation, policy and procedures. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate 
The APS5 Maintenance Systems Officer may coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit. The candidate will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility.

The role will be required to demonstrate high level inter-personal skills when engaging and communicating with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. The ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders is a pivotal aspect of the role. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
