Defence seeks an outstanding senior executive to lead our Estate and Infrastructure Group, based in Canberra ACT.

As part of the Defence Senior Leadership team, the Deputy Secretary Estate and Infrastructure vacancy presents a unique and exciting opportunity for the right person to play a key role in enabling Defence capability.

This is a critical role in the delivery of ADF capability and Defence objectives. Estate and Infrastructure Group (E&IG) has a budget of approximately $5.5 billion, with 1750 APS and ADF staff, and a range of professional service providers to deliver these priorities. E&IG maintains environmental stewardship of over 3.5 million hectares of land with more than 700 leased or owned properties, containing more than 25,000 built assets. The E&IG organisation also has a leading role in integrating service delivery to better align with the One Defence model.

You will play a key role in promoting and influencing a shared commitment to the 2020 Defence Strategic Update. You will contribute to the implementation of the Defence Transformation Strategy which provides the vision and framework for long-term enterprise-wide transformation

The remuneration package includes superannuation, an Executive Vehicle allowance and, where applicable, relocation expenses. The salary component for this position may be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for engagement, an applicant must be, or intend to become, a permanent Australian citizen. This is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
