The Role

CIOG is seeking highly experienced ICT Project Directors with a variety of skills and experience in delivering and supporting the delivery of large and complex ICT projects for government. If successful, you will lead and contribute to significant technology changes to Defence’s ICT capabilities. You will manage the delivery of modern and sustainable ICT capabilities in support of Defence’s military and business operations, both domestically and overseas. You will be required to leverage your extensive experience with industry recognised project methods across a range of  large or multiple smaller projects. 

Many of the projects you will lead involve partnering with Defence Industry teams. You  will have a diverse range of experience and backgrounds in leading diverse project teams to success, including people who have gained their experience outside Defence and Government. You will be able to clearly demonstrate your ability to manage staff and outsourced service providers to deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.

The scale and complexity of these projects often translates to a need for business operating model changes; you will need to demonstrate experience in leading blended teams delivering technical and business operating model transformation. The positions require extensive stakeholder engagement and collaboration; you will need to possess excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.

You will be comfortable working with established processes and procedures, while actively looking for innovative ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of ICT project delivery.
