The Role
Research Services Division are seeking to fill a Project Manager role within the Program Management Office of our Research Engineering (RE) branch.

The Project Manager’s responsibilities will include the planning, scheduling and coordination of engineering projects that contribute to DSTG’s work program.

Position Duties include:

  • Project Manage a portfolio of technical multi-disciplinary engineering projects. You will be responsible for defining the project scope, preparing the project plan and schedule, manage project resources, project risk, and deliver agreed outcomes and milestones.
  • Support the Program Manager to manage the RE work program.
  • Establish relationships and work collaboratively with DST stakeholders in order to develop productive and cohesive project teams.
  • Provide leadership by proactively contributing to the development of new capabilities, including an understanding of future potential requirements, how to satisfy these requirements, and the ability to implement solutions.

RE provide professional and advanced manufacturing to Defence to enable delivery of products, prototypes and models for research, development and experimentation. RE fuses talented professional engineering and technical staff with world’s best design software and cutting edge fabrication capabilities.

Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in the successful management and delivery of projects with in an engineering and technical environment.
  • Sound understanding of methodologies, design & execution of projects.
  • Be a self-motivated problem solver who is outcome focused with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
  • Have an ability to manage a range of competing priorities.
  • Highly developed verbal and written skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering or science related discipline (highly desirable).
  • Project management qualification (diploma preferred) from a recognised institution (highly desirable).
