The Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA) is a newly established Commonwealth Agency located in Adelaide, South Australia. Officers joining ARWA have a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of Australia’s expertise in radioactive waste.

If you are a strong leader and have a desire to work in the nuclear industry, specifically in radioactive waste management, we want to hear from you!

The opportunities
We are looking to fill a number of roles now, but also may use this selection process to fill future vacancies that arise across the next year.

While we are looking for expertise in a variety of areas, all staff will be expected to model and promote a culture of safety and security, and to demonstrate high-level negotiation, liaison, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Having a healthy respect for hazards and working in a regulated environment, preferably nuclear/radiation hazards, will also be highly regarded.

We have Manager (EL 2) and Assistant Manager (EL 1) roles available for adaptive leaders to work collaboratively across the technical functions of ARWA. You will possess a strong understanding of the entire work program and have the ability to develop capability within ARWA to ensure continued growth.

We are seeking Leaders and Technical Specialists to fill the following roles:

• Manager, Design
• Manager, Waste Management Function
• Manager, Safety Case and Radiation Safety (Radiation Safety Officer) 
• Manager, Occupational Safety and Security
• Assistant Manager, Safety Case and Risk
• Assistant Manager, Security.
