Project Officer: Threatened Species - Kakadu National Park
The Organisation and the Team The Department of Environment & Energy designs and implements Australian Government policy and programs to protect and conserve the environment, water and heritage, promote climate action, and provide adequate, reliable and affordable energy. The Department’s Parks Australia Division jointly manages Kakadu National Park (KNP) with the Traditional Aboriginal Owners in accordance with the EPBC Act, the Kakadu lease agreement and other documents. The KNP Science and Biodiversity Team is responsible for the protection of KNP’s biodiversity by managing threats, including weeds, ferals and conducting a significant fire programme, and implement and assist threatened species recovery research and programmes. The Role & Duties As part of the Country and Culture Team of Kakadu National Park, and in accordance with the Lease Agreement, the Kakadu National Park Management Plan 2016-2026, and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, provide support to achieve best practice management of threats to the biodiversity and values of World Heritage and Ramsar listed Kakadu National Park (KNP) by:
