   Senior SharePoint Developer

The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) was established by the Fair Work Act 2009. Our role is to promote harmonious, productive and cooperative workplaces and ensure compliance with Australia's workplace laws.

The Technology and Innovation branch is responsible for delivery and maintenance of internal and external facing systems to provide solutions and support to the Fair Work Ombudsman in its operations. The software set is Microsoft .Net, Dynamics CRM and SharePoint. Our IT infrastructure is provided under a Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Jobs and Small Business.

We are seeking Senior SharePoint Developer (APS6) to manage and deliver the FWO SharePoint space, which encompasses intranet, document management system, and many more internal and external corporate applications.

The successful candidate will be a member of a small team that is responsible to build, manage and enhance new and existing systems. The individual needs to exercise both initiative and strong judgement with the ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders. Good analytical and problem solving skills with high technological aptitude is essential.

Typical Duties
The duties of this role include, however are not limited to:
SharePoint Development:
- Providing technical design, development, implementation and maintenance of large and complex applications
- Participating in the design and development of technical changes that meet business requirements while being aligned with FWO enterprise architecture
- Providing application development in line with FWO standards and methodologies
- Providing coding, unit testing and maintaining complex SharePoint applications and components
- Providing development effort estimates for changes to existing applications and new applications
- Providing Code Review and other quality assurance tasks for projects and for code delivered
- Providing status reporting to development managers
- Providing design and technical documentations
- Liaising with business analysts, testers and other stakeholders to efficiently deliver high quality work
- Transferring technical knowledge and skills to other team members

Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience in configuring and developing solutions in SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint 2016.
- Strong understanding on fundamentals of SharePoint development models and SharePoint / Search API. Ability to create, implement and troubleshoot existing or new applications and integrations with external apps such as ServiceBus and CRM. 
- Good understanding of SharePoint architecture and environments such as Servers and Search Topology, Site Structures, Service Applications, Permission and authentication models.
- Note that this is a developer role and strong developer skills are mandatory. Candidate must demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledgeable in the following technologies:
   • .NET and C#
   • PowerShell
   • Web Services, API, REST
   • Javascript and client-side scripting
   • Nintex and SharePoint 2010 & 2013 workflows
- Sound understanding of the principles and techniques of requirements gathering, analysis, specification and validation
- Have strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skill
- Ability to collaborate with, and influence internal stakeholders, to identify different possible paths to a solution and then negotiate an outcome
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret complex technical information/concepts to a broad range of stakeholders
- Specified Personnel must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain an AGSVA clearance (Baseline clearance as a minimum)

Desirable Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Online development, SPFX, Flow and leveraging Azure stack such as Logic Apps, Azure Functions.
- Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server or VSTS
- Experience with SQL
- Has relevant Microsoft certifications
