Assistant Director

The Human Resources (HR) function is responsible for a range of people areas including:

  • workforce strategy
  • culture
  • recruitment
  • leadership and learning
  • diversity programs
  • health and safety
  • HR advice
  • injury management
  • shared services
  • administration, and
  • analytics.

The Assistant Director provides leadership, advice and support on HR/WHS best practice in line with people strategies, legislation, policies and processes. You will provide expert advice to make timely, evidence-based decisions, collectively manage priorities, resources, issues and risks, and realise program benefits.

Using an agile approach to support business priorities, Assistant Directors operate with a significant degree of independence and work under the guidance of a Director to deliver quality outcomes. You will translate people-related business problems, undertake research and analysis to provide an evidence base for decisions, and develop innovative and actionable HR/WHS solutions for business improvement.

The Assistant Director will build staff capability through positive leadership, coaching and capability development to increase performance, engagement, wellbeing and retention.

Essential requirements:

Security Clearance level required: Baseline (or ability to obtain and maintain).
