UPDATE:

The Federal Government has terminated Australian Border Force Commissioner Roman Quaedvlieg’s position.

Mr Quaedvlieg was found to have failed to disclose a relationship with a woman who was seeking employment with the Australian Border Force when he was in a position to influence the recruitment decision.

He also made a false statement to the Immigration Minister about the relationship.

Reports suggest time is short for Roman Quaedvlieg.

Mr Quaedvlieg has been taking home his full salary since inquiries over an alleged relationship with a former staffer began. He is expected to have earned more than half a million dollars since taking leave last May.

The ABC says that one review has recommended Border Force Commissioner Roman Quaedvlieg be sacked over alleged misconduct, while the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Martin Parkinson has completed his review into Mr Quaedvlieg’s alleged misconduct too.

Attorney-General Christian Porter is expected to make a decision on Mr Quaedvlieg’s future soon.

Mr Quaedvlieg has previously denied any wrongdoing.

Once a decision has been made, the Governor-General is expected to sign off on it before Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton notifies Parliament.
