You will be part of an experienced, dynamic and innovative team that contributes to making a positive difference to the lives of children, families and communities.
About us
We are the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS), the Australian Government’s key independent research body and advisor in the area of family wellbeing, based in Melbourne’s CBD. We produce research about ‘what works for families’ and make it accessible to decision makers, practitioners and the general public.
Our team
The Data Linkage and Integrating Authority (DLIA) and the Data Management and Linkage team (DML) work across the Institute’s research program, longitudinal studies and other externally commissioned linkage and integration projects, exposing team members to an array of interesting data-driven roles and functions. The team manages all aspects of the data life cycle, adhering to industry best practice. Team members provide expertise in data governance, data management, data linkage and data analytics for the Institute as a whole. The Institute is also a highly specialised Accredited Integration Authority and Accredited Data Service Provider under the Data Availability and Transparency Act 2022. This means that we are one of the few Commonwealth Agencies with the capability to undertake a wide range of complex data linkage activities for statistical and research purposes.
We are uniquely positioned to both advise and support our diverse range of internal and external clients to enable them to harness the depth and breadth of big data across government and research. This, in turn, helps researchers and policy makers progress on some of Australia’s most challenging issues that directly impact Australian families.
