The Role
The ASD 4 Signals Intelligence Analyst in Regional Intelligence Branch (RI) undertakes a combination of the following:

  • Research and analysis of collected signals and technical data to optimise collection activities and support decisions on capability development.
  • Research and analysis of signals intelligence data including using data literacy techniques to collate, manipulate and transform data
  • Writing foreign signals intelligence reports based on outcomes of research and analysis of collected data
  • Using a variety of information and communications technology, record-keeping, and information management systems, and analytical tools.
  • Interpretation of legislative, policy and security frameworks.

About our Team
ASD is a vital member of Australia’s national security community. We work across the full spectrum of operations required of contemporary signals intelligence and security agencies. This includes intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations in support of the Australian Government and Australian Defence Force (ADF).

RI Branch is a multi-disciplinary workforce that conducts in-depth, complex research and analysis of foreign signals intelligence, technical data, and a wide range of policy issues. Successful candidates will receive specialised on-the-job training, access to relevant industry-related courses to develop your skills and help you build people networks across the National Intelligence Community.

They also take responsibility for developing and improving their existing skills and knowledge. They will work to the direction of senior analysts, their team leaders, and intelligence managers but can work independently and undertake self-study with minimal supervision.
