The Role
Within the Defence Graduate and Entry Level Programs Directorate’s (the Directorate) program delivery function an APS4 Program Support Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform moderately complex transactional, procedural, operational and administrative work within an integrated workforce.
They are responsible for understanding government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements and complying with relevant legislative frameworks.
This position is key in supporting the Assistant Director and Director to achieve our business objectives.
As a Program Support Officer your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Assisting the team to expand program offerings and enhance the quality of existing programs assisting with the development of policies and procedures to support participant or graduate experience
- Liaising and collaborating with key stakeholders, both internally and externally to increase awareness of Defence’s Graduate and Entry Level programs
- Assisting the Program Manager to coordinate and facilitate events and workshops to promote entry level pathways into Defence
- Assisting the team in gathering feedback from clients and stakeholders to support continuous improvement
- Assisting the team to ensure Defence standards, processes and policies are understood and upheld by Program participants
- Assisting the team to maintain a range of program materials, for example manuals and handbooks.
