The APSC says it will focus on the people behind robodebt violations.

The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) is appointing a disciplinarian to deal with public servants who violated the code of conduct during the robodebt saga. 

The development comes after the Royal Commission's adverse findings rocked the bureaucracy, necessitating a clear course of action to maintain accountability and integrity.

The appointee, former APS commissioner Stephen Sedgwick, has been entrusted with the responsibility of handling sanctions against those whose names have been tarnished by the Royal Commission's report. 

With a new code of conduct breach now established, a parallel process will be in motion, first determining guilt, and then prescribing an appropriate punishment.
