Defence procurement probed
A confidential Defence report allegedly highlights an exclusionary, insiders-only procurement culture.
Reporters have gained access to a “heavily redacted” report into the Department of Defence’s methods for managing arrangements with its biggest suppliers.
It allegedly criticises the agency’s institutionalised mentality, which leads it to only hire former Defence staff. It says this creates an exclusionary, insider culture that is resistant to change, efficiency and innovation.
