The Federal Government has announced the membership of its new employment advisory panel that will provide advice on reducing unnecessary red tape for employment services providers.

The three-member Advisory Panel on Employment Services Administration and Accountability (APESSA) will be chaired by Susan Pascoe and will include Su McCluskey and Professor Myles McGregor-Lowndes.

“This panel will be tasked with providing critical advice to the Government on how we can reduce complexity and streamline administration while maintaining accountability in the system.” Minister for Employment Participation Kate Ellis said.

Ms Susan Pascoe is Commissioner of the State Services Authority in Victoria and was also the Commissioner of the 2009 Victorian Bushfire Royal Commission. She delivered the 2008 Regulating the Not for profit Sector Report as Commissioner for the Victorian State Services Authority. Ms Pascoe is also the CEO of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

Ms Su McCluskey is Chief Executive Officer of the Council on Rural Research and Development Corporations. She is the immediate past Executive Director of the Office of Best Practice Regulation.

Professor Myles McGregor-Lowndes is assisting the panel in a peer review capacity and is the Director of the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies.
