New Senate inquiry into school teaching and learning
The Senate Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Committees is to undertake an inquiry into ‘Teaching and learning - maximising our investment in Australian schools’, with particular reference to:
- the effectiveness of current classroom practices in assisting children to realise their potential in Australian schools;
- the structure and governance of school administration ‘local and central’ and its impact on teaching and learning;
- the influence of family members in supporting the rights of children to receive a quality education;
- the adequacy of tools available for teachers to create and maintain an optimal learning environment;
- factors influencing the selection, training, professional development, career;
- and other related matters.
Submissions should be received by 26 October 2012. The reporting date is 21 March 2013. More information is here.
