Next-gen child finding with local edit of FBI app
Authorities are pushing for a high-tech edge in the fight to find missing children.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) is commemorating International Missing Children's Day by encouraging parents and guardians to download the Australian Police Child ID app.
The Australian Police Child ID app has been specifically designed to help parents work together with police to find their children if they ever go missing.
It includes safety advice and checklists for parents on keeping children safe, information about what to do in the hours immediately after a child goes missing, provides quick access to emergency contact phone numbers, and is free on both major mobile operating systems.
One key feature allows families to store photographs and vital information about their children on their phone, then, in the devastating event that a child goes missing the information can be immediately provided to authorities.
The following video presents the US-version of the app.
